After some difficult economical times the United States has been finally able to record some positive improvements in the job market sector. But even though there were 244.000 additional jobs in April 2011, other statistics differ from the results that count 9 percent of jobless people compared to the 8.8 percent in the month before.

There are assumptions that Google has something to do with the change of numbers. The giant search engine company has recently changed its algorithm system to a different one sorting out low-quality content. Since the sector of search engine optimization (SEO) has recently flourished, providing many thousands of people with jobs this will put a quick halt to the business. Even though the influence of Google is mainly restricted to the American market it is still striking.

But what exactly is meant by low-quality content? With the arising of SEO, many companies have started to write articles that include a certain number of keywords. Keywords are simple word constellations or phrases that are used numerous times in one article in order to rank it very high in search engines. This often results in nonsense texts with bad grammar. This procedure has created many jobs in the past, which is now going to change most likely.

During the first quarter of 2011 the numbers of article writing jobs have decreased by 29 percent as compared to the last quarter. Copy- and ghostwriting numbers dropped 19 and 12 percent.

The number of Adobe Flash developers has also decreased and it is assumed that the reason is Apple’s reluctance to work with Flash platforms in general. Compared to the last quarter in 2010 the amount of Flash developers went down 27 percent.

Since smart phones have become extremely popular during the last couple of years, the only two sectors that have noticed growth are the sectors of programmers that are focusing on Apple products and Android developers. There is even a discussion going on whether Android will be able to overtake Apple during the next while since the growth rates are increasing faster than those of iOS.
