To the Cloud and Back Again

Posted by: in Outsourcing

Back in the day, cloud conversion was when you stared at the sky and “converted” from cumulus, stratus, cirrus and nimbus to bunnies, dolphins, unicorns and piggies.

In this day and age, cloud conversion has more to do with applications and aligning your business with current technology.

To do this, you’ll have to shift from the obsolete to the contemporary.  It’s not as terrifying as it may sound.

Legacy migration is a more efficient and reliable software management system, one that evades security mishaps and missed opportunities.  If your legacy application is developed in old Microsoft technologies like Visual Basic, transforming .NET applications to ASP.NET is vital to maintaining the fluidity of your business.  Likewise, legacy migration is most congruent when completed in the shortest possible time, requiring minimum recoding and programming and is cloud ready.

The best way to migrate VB6 and .Net applications to the web, cloud, and mobile devices is via outsourcing.  However, outsourcing has an intimidating ring to it.  Bad deals and disappearing funds are all too commonly circulated horror stories.

In reality, the most common complications are those of culture and communication.

Two of the greatest countries in the tech industry are India, the reigning champion, and Brazil, the rising star.  Both nations share a history of ethnic diversity as well as a large religious presence.

That’s why we’ve made sure that we have Brazilians working in our office, an effort to ensure fluid communication and cultural understanding.
